About Us - Present Day

Singleton’s Dairy is one of Britain’s most successful independent cheese makers.

Located in the heart of Lancashire cheese making territory, and surrounded by some of the finest dairy herds in the country, we source all of our milk from within a 15 mile radius of the dairy.

Recently, we have developed a new range of Lancashire Cheese and Butter made exclusively from milk supplied by a small numbers of farming families in and around the Forest of Bowland, just 5 minutes drive from the dairy.  These families own and produce the successful regional milk, Bowland Fresh.

Our cheeses have continued to evolve and develop over time to meet the demands of the market.  And while we understand that customer tastes change over time we also believe that above all else customers expect consistent quality.  This is why Singleton’s continues to make all its cheeses by hand using traditional recipes and undertakes rigorous quality control procedures.  We have BRC Grade A accreditation for our extremely high standards of hygiene, rigorous inspection procedures and high levels of staff training.

Over recent years Singleton’s has seen significant investment in its production and packaging facilities recently purchasing a new inter-leafed packaging machine that allows easy separating of our premium Lancashire Cheeses and Flavoured Specialities.

In 2000 and 2005 Singletons was proudly awarded the Queen’s Award for Enterprise for its innovative development of export markets.
